Pauline and I were on a mission to explore, learn and absorb everything in New York City.

After going to Poland for the Maxus Global Exchange, it was now my turn to host a fellow Maxus employee, Pauline, at the NYC office.

After going to Poland for the Maxus Global Exchange, it was now my turn to host a fellow Maxus employee at the NYC office. I eagerly waited at the airport for Pauline to arrive from Paris so we could begin our two week adventure.

Pauline and I were on a mission to explore, learn and absorb everything in New York City’€¦quite a big task to undertake in only two weeks. There were so many highlights in the two weeks we spent together, each and every experience was as though we immersed ourselves in a different culture, all while remaining in the same city ‘ New York City.

We walked down streets we didn’t know and spontaneously looked up the best places to visit in each section of town. We ended up wandering down a small side alley in Chinatown and getting the best dumplings I’ve ever had and then stopping for a bottle of red and calamari in Little Italy.

Next on the list was an American Football game, because if you are in America for the first time, you have to go to a Football game! I’ve personally never been a huge football fan, so I anticipated going to the game and enjoying a pretzel and a beer.  However, we borrowed Giants jerseys and went early to tailgate ‘ once the game started we became the Giants biggest fans (my family would be so proud)!

Coming out of those two weeks, I’ve slept less and learned more about New York City than I think I have in my lifetime. My hosting experience has encouraged me to approach each new experience with an open and curious mind. I would say our mission was only half accomplished ‘ which means Pauline and I will need to reunite to continue our adventure in New York City.
