When America’s leading condom brand, Trojan entered the sex toy category, they turned to Maxus USA to help them create conversations and tackle this taboo topic.
We put forward a creative and innovative solution. We transformed New York’s iconic hot dog carts into “Pleasure Carts,” where Trojan enticed passers-by with calls of “Get your vibes here!”, giving away over 10,000 vibrators. Organic conversation quickly blossomed, generating more than 6,700 consumer tweets and over 380 original news stories. In addition to the giveaway, Trojan used live reads from radio and TV personality, Howard Stern to spread news about the carts. And updates and cart locations could be found on the brand’s Facebook page during the event.
This bold campaign successfully brought the vibrator conversation to the forefront, generating over 700 million impressions in four days. Chatter translated to intent and sales, with 50% increase in traffic on Trojan’s website and a 33% lift in revenue. Pleasuring results.
